Apadrinaunolivo.org is a model of social and environmental entrepreneurship that involves society and companies through new technologies to transform neglected rural areas.
Our solution
A transformative model, from a non-profit legal framework and with a marked social and environmental character that provides an inspiring and innovative concept when it comes to transforming the paradigm of abandonment of rural areas. To do this, we empower its inhabitants in the recovery, conservation and valorization of the abandoned centenary olive grove, generating in the towns involved a sustainable economy with social inclusion.
Why we do it?
We reflect in our project the change we want in society in order for future generations to enjoy our rural wealth, nature and culture.
How do we finance our project?
The Association is funded thanks to the sponsors from all over the world that decide to be part of the solution adopting an olive tree for 50 euros annually. We also have the support of companies that adhere to our model of Corporate Social Responsibility, awards and recognitions, as well as possible subsidies from institutions.
Our objectives
- Generate new actions and thoughts in rural populations to achieve different results.
- Recover the abandoned centenary olive grove in the lower Aragón.
- Conserve and enhance its biodiversity, such as high value olive groves.
- Expand the impact of the project to other areas, as well as other crops.
- It generates sustainable economies and development in regions at risk of disappearing by putting in value olive trees.
- Involve people with intellectual disabilities in the work, at the hands of ATADI (Agrupación Turolense de ayuda ala discapacidad Intelectual)
- Enhance carbon capture through the recovery of the olive grove, mitigating the carbon footprint.
